The multimedia and interactive design studio Talking Birds & Flying Fish and its creative director Anastasia Slabinyak (s-lab) perform in a creative collaboration at the intersection of creative disciplines. Their focus is on pure and intuitive visual metaphors that resonate with viewers' emotions and allow them to look at the world in a new way. The authors realize projects for international brands and artists, and also present their works at festivals such as NUR, Intervals and Night of Light.
The installation Next mimics the process of scrolling and reflects the reluctance to make choices, which ultimately leads to mistakes. Its video sequence consists of contrasting themes that evolve in style and, approaching the climax, abruptly change to a “new channel”. Each successive theme becomes shorter and the scrolling becomes more active, until the switching signals happen so fast that they break the screen.
