Media artist and robot choreographer Dmitry Masaidov is taking part in NUR for the third time. He previously worked on the installations ‘Greenhouse’ and ‘Anti-Fragility’, and this year he is presenting a new installation together with Nikolai Popov, composer and artistic director of the Centre for Electroacoustic Music at the Moscow Conservatoire and the ‘Biomechanics’ festival.

Mechanical rustling. Phantoms

The audience finds themselves as if in a rehearsal room. The composer has left, but has left behind his instruments and detailed video instructions. Four robots will attempt to mechanically reproduce the music and the score left behind. The installation was created by the CEAM team with the support of Fragmenta.
