Taiwanese media artist Aka Chang specializes in creating spectacular scenes with light. He began his journey as a VJ, and as he matured, he realized that even the most complex images can be reduced to a single light source. This led the artist to experiment with different luminous materials and smoke: Aka Chang observed textures, relationships between mediums and the potential impact of technical solutions on the audience’s perception. His current work can be characterized as three-dimensional light and sound structures related to time, space, sound and people.
The installation Multimmeriveriverion_Upside Down is the result of an artistic research that stretches back to 2017. In it, linear trajectories of light are repeatedly and continuously layered in space, changing the natural landscape through variations in the composition of lighting media. At the NUR 2025 festival you will see an updated version of the work, where light will be poured from above onto the mirrored surface of water and expand its volume through reflections. A kind of realm will unfold in front of the audience, in which the relationship between human perception and the changing environment can be traced.
The location will be announced later
